Candlelights in the caves at Cheddar for Valentine’s Day

Cheddar Gorge & Caves will be putting a different twist on The Tunnel of Love this Valentine’s – by offering locals lovers and short-break sweethearts the chance to enjoy an underground romantic candle-lit tour of a famous Somerset cave.

It’s a rare opportunity to treat your loved one to a truly romantic experience deep inside the heart of Gough’s Cave, where you will be led on a candle-lit tour by “Richard Gough” – the man himself, who first discovered one of the natural wonders that lies deep beneath the stunning Gorge.

The evening will feature tales from days-gone-by, including stories of romance that have emanated from Cheddar Gorge & Caves. And all of it illuminated by candlelight.

A celebration glass of sparkling wine, and other romantic treats, will be included in the price of the ticket.

Places will be limited to just 24 people, and tickets must be booked in advance.

Two dates are available for the special candle-lit tour experience: Saturday, February 11; and Tuesday, February 14 – both starting at 7pm.

Ticket prices are £15 per person, including the celebration drink and refreshments. The tour will last approximately one hour.

Tickets can be booked by telephoning 01934 742343. And further details are available at http://www.cheddargorge.co.uk/events.

Future candle-lit tours in the company of Richard Gough are also being planned for Halloween, and Christmas.
