Halloween at Cheddar: a Gothic tale below ground!

Family fun and Halloween horror will go hand-in-glove at Cheddar Gorge & Caves during the October half-term holidays – giving every visitor there a truly spooktacular tale to tell their friends and relatives…

Set to transform this popular Somerset attraction into “The Gorge of Mysteries” this special event is set to run from October 27 to November 4, and will feature three colourful characters from classic novels, including Frankenstein’s Monster, Dracula and Dorian Gray – along with a Victorian detective duo who will also be on hand to help visitors unravel the mystery within Gough’s Cave.

The interactive murder mystery experience, where visitors young and old can play a role in solving the mystery of Gough’s cave, takes place below ground in the atmospheric network of prehistoric caves, amidst flickering lights and eerie encounters.

The characters in the cave will all be played by professional actors from the Natural Theatre Company.

The Victorian detectives are here to solve a fascinating case, but one of them appears to have got lost. In the labyrinth of underground caves.  And it’s up to the visitors to seek-out the other mysterious characters, in order to solve the mystery.

Scary enough to offer some wholesome Halloween fun, the experience is also family friendly and – best of all – included in the cost of a regular Day Ticket.

Access to Cheddar Gorge and Caves via an Explorer Day Ticket (which includes The Gorge of Mysteries experience, Dreamhunters, Gough’s Cave, The Museum of Prehistory, Beyond the View, Cliff-top Walk) is priced at: Adults £19.95 (online £16.95); Children (5-15) £13.95 (online £11.85); Under 5s Free.
